- Great project for moving out: scraps, ends of bolts, older inventory, etc.
- Not all kits need to be exactly the same!
- Each kit uses 14+ yards of fabric:
Aqua: 1 7/8 yards
Blue: 1 yard
Green: 1 yard
Orange: 1 1/8 yards
Purple: 1 yard
Raspberry: 1 1/8 yards
Yellow: 1 yard
Background: 5 yards
Borders: 1 1/2 yards
Binding: 5/8 yards
Sample loan/trunk shows (3 weeks) available
String quilts are scrap quilts with a signature style.
They are made from many strips (strings) of fabric sewn together to form blocks. These blocks can be set into designs ranging from traditional to modern. The project offered here is a nice combination of both styles. This is a guided improv pattern. Exact measurements will be given for each unit needed to construct the quilt, however the string piecing itself will be improvisational.
