DESCRIPTION
The Hocuspocusville Ensemble travels to all of the witches' events to entertain the ladies. They seem to never run out of magical music and can play non-stop for hours! This block features colored pencil tinting (even plaid!), easy hand embroidery, and GOOSEPIPES! What more could anyone ask for?
Stitchery measures approximately 24 1/2" x 13 1/4"
Witch's Faire Supply List
2 strings - 73" and 59" long
2 ½ yards stitchery background fabric
2 ½ yards white muslin for backing stitched blocks (optional)
About ½ yard each of light white and beige fabrics (8 different prints and solids) for piecing (The fabric you choose for the inner border will require about ¼ yard more)
¿ yard of each (8) vivid prints or solids for window block centers, stitched block borders, and pennants
2 yards total of assorted black and grey prints and solids
86" x 105" batting
6 yards quilt backing fabric
Applique glue pen (I used Sewline brand)
01 or 005 brown Pigma pen
Light box for tracing your embroidery pattern
Freezer paper (for placing under fabric when applying fixative)
Artist’s paper blending stumps
Emery board/nail file
Size 4 round watercolor brush
Jacquard Textile #100 Colorless Extender
Embroidery hoop (I like a 5" thin-sided, spring tension hoop)
#7 embroidery needle
#3 milliner’s needle
Loctite Fun-Tak Mounting Putty (for removing most pencil tinting mistakes before fixative is added)
Thread and pencil colors listed below are needed to make all blocks in the finished quilt. For making just this pattern's block, only the colors in bold are required.
